Some say Joey Hudy partly inspired the White House Maker Faire. He was briefly famous for the “extreme marshmallow cannon” that President Obama helped him set off during the White House Science Fair in 2012, and he’s been Michelle Obama’s guest to this year’s State of the Union, as well as a contributor to Make.
“It is an honor to be a part of this great event,” says Hudy. “The event is important because it showcases makers/makerfaire.” He cites a mantra he put on a bracelet for the first lady: “Don’t be bored…Make something.”
He’ll be there showing a 10×10 RGB LED cube array (pictured above) that runs on an Intel Galileo, similar to the one he built as a Make kit, but bigger.
