When I was a kid, I had a dog-eared copy of Shep Paineโs How to Build Dioramas that I spent countless blissful hours poring over and dreaming about. Lori Nixโs work enthralls me in just the same way, and for most of the same reasons.
Our own Arwen OโReilly writes:
Iโm blown away by Lori Nixโs post-Apocalyptic diorama photographs. (Her โUnnatural Historyโ series, which shows a natural history museum askew, is also fabulous.) She builds each diorama from scratch over about seven months and then spends up to three weeks perfecting the lighting and placement of the props. I love this quote from her FAQ: โI have miniature power tools throughout the apartment, a chop saw under the kitchen table, a miniature table saw on top.โ
