Red Hot Jello

I feel oddly compelled to try Ali at Gimme Some Oven!’s Red Hot Jello. I don’t usually eat Jello, and those cinnamon red hot candies aren’t really my bag. But combined together, with applesauce? I mean … it’s just an unknown. I have to satiate my urge to experience the taste! And the texture!
Has anyone had this? Ali says it was a childhood treat, but I had never heard of it until I stumbled across this recipe.
