Cool idea, this little device samples and stores the color of something you like – “RGBy, by Shinya Matsuyama and Makoto Hirahara, is a cube-shaped lamp that senses color and glows with the sensed color. For example, when you find a nice color at a flower garden or a designer clothes store, you can use RGBy to capture the color to appreciate it.” Link.
Here are some handy tips on making an already useful Moleskin notebook even more useful – my favorite “Pencil sharpener. Two pieces of sandpaper, couse for wood, fine to sharpen the lead to a nice point. Sticky back tape the sandpaper to the back of your notebook.” Link.
This week’s video on the Manufacturers’ Blog is how electricity is made “…it comes to us courtesy of the good people down at Mississippi Power (part of the Southern Company). It’s a video of their “Plant Daniel”, near Escatawpa, Mississippi. Here you’ll see machines that generate a million kilowatts of electricity, a plant that burns (cleanly) 500,000 pounds of coal per hour, heating water to 1000 degrees Fahrenheit to make energy for all of us to use. In all, this one plant produces 9 billion kilowatt hours of energy per year.” Link.
Macworld has a handy guide for iPod owners “…while visiting relatives a while back, I was showing pictures from a family event—thanks to the iPod photo’s handy present-on-the-TV feature—and got several requests to send one photo or another to various family members. I ended up writing down who wanted which photos and then grabbing them from iPhoto when I got home. Here’s how to make your own scratch off cards, fun for projects for kids and possibly an idea for starting your own lottery “For this 1 Minute Finger Tip you’ll need a piece of card, a green wax crayon, some green poster paint, a paintbrush and a black felt tip pen.
