Hand warming laptop bag…

Hand warming laptop bag…

Muff Pack-744652 Available to order in 3 colors for a cool 200 bucks, the Muff Pack is a unisex shoulder bag that doubles as a handmuff. Kinda handy when you think about it. If you’re the type of person who constantly loses gloves around the city or find gloves to be cumbersome in general, this might be a fun alternative. The only drawback (well, other than the price) is that you may get suspicious stares on the train with your hand stuck in your bag. Link.

DIY amp’ed Congo music…

Images-4 NPR_Nut writes “A group of musicians took centuries-old instruments from the forests of Congo, brought them into the city – and plugged in! Their do-it-yourself amplification devices conjure up garage bands. African punk music from Konono Number One.” Link (WindowsMedia audio). Wow, this is really great- they also talk how they made the DIY pick ups.

Marker + Cutter = The ColorCutter

Marker + Cutter = The ColorCutter

Colorcutter Perry writes “I invented this new type of cutting tool and have been having a blast with it. I want to see the cool things people can make and mod with them. The MP series cuts metal foils and plastic sheets. The other lines work great on paper, photo and vellums. If you make some cool stuff and I’d like to konw about it”. Clever, it’s a blade, inside a marker. Link.

The Freesound Project

The Freesound Project

Free The Freesound Project – a collaborative database of Creative Commons licensed sounds. It is developed for the international computer music conference 2005 to be held in Barcalona Spain in September. The site has a very advanced search engine. The best was recently introduced: geotags were added for the field recordings in the database. This means that you can look at your google earth and see all these cool sounds from all across the globe. Thanks Anton! Link.
