OS in your pocket…



Danny O’Brien wrote a wonderful Greasemonkey script, as mentioned in our Issue #02 column. It pings you every few minutes to see if you still really need to be surfing the web, and it’s wonderful.The idea, of course, is not to make you insane and interrupt your real work, but to ensure that you’re always aware of the task that brought you where you are—that you not allow a legitimate work search to turn into a 4-hour wikipedia party. In Make 02 we covered getting Linux on your iPod to do things like play new games, image viewing, recording high quality audio- and now it looks like we’re getting video playback using a modd’ed Podzilla build. I just tried it out the new kernel, but I can’t seem to get the sample video to play- I’ll try more soon, let me know if you get it going Link to instructions. Update: Got it working on THREE IPODS! Here is our video.
