There has been a lot of excitement around the Chumby Guts from the Maker Shed. I have a kit sitting in my studio, and it’s completely naked! Well, that just won’t do. I have to make a cool enclosure.
Here’s a neat process video where Richard Liddle shows how he makes the RD Chair. It’s an excellent idea- after melting the used plastic, he extrudes it by hand onto a collapsible wooden form, and removes the form after everything cools down.
I like these ice records by artist Katie Paterson. She recorded sounds from a number of melting Icelandic glaciers, then pressed the recordings into ice to make single use records.
