DIY ROXR – Sync iTunes to a TREO (and more)
Here’s an iTunes add-on for Mobile Phones. This free software allows PalmOne Treo 650 & 600 smartphones, Sony-Ericsson’s Walkman phones, Nokia’s XpressMusic and Samsung MP3 phones (with hard keys to control playback) to be synchronized with iTunes. It enables them to be a virtual iTunes phones like the Motorola ROKR, but without the 100 song limit. Link.
Old phone, with new cell guts, and functional. This project is a working cellular push-button telephone. The phone is an old telephone from my kitchen growing up that I modified into a working cellphone. The old bell ringer functions. You can talk and listen on the old handset. The phone is dialed with the buttons on its front. And it can be powered via a power cord spliced into the phone jack at the back. No text messaging, phone book, or camera phone junk. Smile. [
Here’s a free 411 service (800-free-411) instead of paying your cell carrier (92 percent of the $8 billion the carriers earn annually on directory assistance calls is profit) you get the same 411 information plus a location based audio ad. I’m going to try it and see how it goes. [

I’m not on Sprint- let me know if this is useful. Most cell phones have a built in modem to allow for data transfer, all you need is a data cable and the cell modem drivers. Sprint has a decent data network that will give you access to approximately 240kbs of bandwidth, much faster that your standard dialup. [
Javacast is an Enhanced Podcast to Java MIDlet (J2ME) converter for Mobile Phones. It is to be used by Podcasters to convert their Enhanced Podcasts to Java MIDlets. The resulting Java Phone application would be downloaded via WAP/OTA as any Java application. It does not require iTunes, iPodder or any podcast downloader.
