Top 10: Easy DIY Gifts My Dad Would Dig
Most of the fathers I know actually have very little in common with Demographic Dad. You know the guy I’m talking about, right? About five-nine, one-eighty? Likes big-screen TVs, neckties, and golf clubs? Largely an invention of greeting card publishers and retail marketing directors? Yeah, that guy. Between you and me, honestly, I don’t like him very much. In fact, he seems like kind of a doofus.
CNC Spoil Board Art
A spoil board is sacrificial material that’s used underneath the material you want to cut on a CNC machine. This ensures a better through cut and is usually MDF. I’ve noticed that when the spoil boards are all used up at ITP, some really amazing patterns are formed.
By making careful choices in his display of this found art, Ben really stumbled onto something beautiful that normally would have ended up in the dumpster. It would have been a shame to see this piece spoiled in such a way.
Tennis Ball Helper Hangs onto Your Things
Not only is this little guy super-cute, but he keeps your personal belongings safe and sound. Construction is dead simple: just two rivets for eyes, and a slice with a utility blade for the mouth. Optional mounting ideas are a single screw or a small plunger.
