LEDs are all the rage these days. Let’s shine the light on a few standout crowdfunded projects.
I combined a strip of WS2812B addressable RGB LEDs with an Arduino, a real-time clock and a beautiful heart-shaped boutique paper box to make an ornament for my wonderful Valentine. It displays the time, in seconds, in binary, since we met… (of course, it’s slightly approximate — I forget the precise second we met, but I think I know to within about 30 minutes!)
Knitwear designer Lindsay Degen integrated live machine knitting and digitally-controlled LEDs into her recent show during New York Fashion Week.
The object of your desire will not be able to resist this heart shaped kitsch-o-tron, lovingly hand-crafted on perfboard with a CD4017B decade counter and 555 astable. But you probably can’t go wrong with flowers and chocolates as well. Just to be on the safe side.
Keep the chill away by making flashy wearable electronic gear that will keep your ears warm and protected from the harsh winter wind!
Join us at the scheduled hangout time to watch LIVE as we talk with Akimitsu “The LED Artist” Sadoi about his LED color organ projects, and demo our own build of his circuit on solderless breadboard.
